Ultra

What:

Ultra Trail Run - 30, 100, 150, 200, and 500 MILE TRAIL. Rugged 10 mile loop in the Green Mountains of Vermont. Runners will repeat the loops 3, 10, 15, 20, or 50 times. Each loop has 2400 vertical therefore the 30 miler will feature 7,200, 100 miler will feature 24,000, 150 miler will feature 36,000, 200 miler will feature 48,000 and 500 miler will feature 100,800.


When:

200/500 starts at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. 150 at 6:00 a.m. Friday and the 30/100 will start at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday. 100/150 mile Course Closes at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 9, 2010 and the 200 milers have until 6 p.m.

Lodging:

Tent camping is available plus outdoor showers. There are many state parks in the area that offer camping and lots of smaller motels and B & B's as well.


Rules:

Don't cut the course. Don't litter. Support crews/pacers may join the 100 milers for their last 50, the 150/200 milers may have pacers after the first 50. NOTE: If your support crew registers for the 30 mile run they can jump in and join you at anytime and their cumulative time will be their finish time for the 30 mile distance.

 

Weather:

Cold. It's Vermont in May. People still ski in May so you could even see some snow. Expect mud and cool temps at night.


Food:

Entry fee includes Friday pasta dinner, Saturday morning breakfast, and Saturday night BBQ. There will be a minimal fee for support crews interested in those meals. Normal ultra grub will be served during the race.


Schwag and Awards:

Something unique and cool for entrants. Buckles for finishers.


Directions:

Pittsfield is on route 100 North of Killington.


Airports:

Easiest airports to fly into are Burlington, VT and Albany, NY.
