Description

If you complete this race you are ready for the Vermont 100. Completing this challenge is an effective way to prepare for any 100 miler or Ironman.

What:

Ultramarathon - 50+ Mile Ultra-Marathon. 50K+ Ultra-Marathon and 10 mile Fun Run!


Course:

Start and Finish will be at The Aimee Farm on Route 100 in Pittsfield, VT Race course will be on country roads, logging roads, NFS roads, snowmobile trails, and rugged single track trails.


Aid stations:

Fully Stocked aid stations will have water, Gatorade, Zico, soda, and ultra snacks.

Liberty Hill Rd. - (50M/50K Mile 4) Water Only
Colton Camp - ( 50M/50K Miles 7 and 8) Water Only
Upper Michigan - (50M Miles 12, 18 and 37 - 50K Mile 12,18) Fully Stocked, Drop Bags, Crew Access
Clearing - (50M Mile 23 ) Water Only (Limited)
Blood Root - (50M Mile 25 ) Fully Stocked
Chittenden - (50M Mile 31 ) Minimal Aid
Haydens - (50M Mile 39 - 50K Mile 20) Water Only
Dove Drive - 50M mile 43/50K mile 24 Water Only
Top of Tweed - 50M mile 47/50K mile 28 WATER ONLY

Race course will be on country roads, logging roads, NFS roads, snowmobile trails, and rugged single track trails. You will see the same aid station after Contest/Wilcox section (mile 12), again after Hayes Brook Loop (mile 18) and again after Bloodroot Mountain (mile 37). You can have a drop bag at this station. The aid station will have water, Gatorade, Zico, soda, and ultra snacks.

There will be a few water only aid stations at approx. mile 3, mile 25, and mile 41.

2. Hayes Brook Loop - 6 miles - 957 vertical
3. Bloodroot Mtn. - 19.89 miles - 4670 vertical
4. Hedgehog - 3.79 miles - 700 vertical
5. Joe's Hill - 10.3 miles - 3383 vertical

53 MILES - 13,122 vertical

* The course will be VERY easy to follow but VERY
difficult to run.

Packet Pick Up:

from 7:30 - 9 p.m. at the Amee Farm. Look for Registration banner. Park across the street.

Parking:

Amee Farm - 1/4 mile north across the street from the General Store.


Camping:

Green Mountain National Forest - A few miles west on Upper Michigan Road in Pittsfield. Pass the truck turnaround and continue on dirt road. There are camping spots on each side of Upper Michigan. Gifford Woods, Silver Lake, and White River also have campgrounds.


Cost:

Solo - $75 before 5/15/09. $90 until June 6th. Relay - $150 before 5/15/09. $200 after.

Prize:

$900.00 will be distributed to top 3 males and top 3 females: 200.00 top male/Female, 150.00 2nd place male/female, 100.00 3rd place male/female.


Awards:

Finishers Medal for all finishers and special award for Top Male and Female and Top Masters Male and Female. No awards ceremony.


Gear:

Carry your own water. It's very important that you take water with you! We will also have quite a few water only aid stations. Be sure to carry a few water bottles. Runners may also choose to carry flashlights.


Rules:

No pacers. No littering. No cheating. Support crew at aid stations only. Notify race staff if you drop out of the race.


Drop Bags:

Drop Bags at Upper Michigan Aid Station. Drop bag locations will be at Amee farm the morning of the race. We will deliver your bag to the station after the start of the race. You will have access to this bag at mile 12, 18, and 37.
